Dr. Arthur Klein

Arthur Klein, MD, SVP of children’s services and chief of staff, Schneider Children’s Hospital. Dr. Klein is responsible for the quality and growth of the children’s services line, including all pediatric programs and services, both inpatient and ambulatory.

Prior to joining Schneider Childrem's Hospital, Dr. Klein was Senior Vice President and Chief Physician Officer at Lifespan, where he was responsible for performance improvement, physician networking and the execution of strategies for expansion throughout the Lifespan health care system. Klein also served as associate dean for strategic and special projects for Brown Medical School.

Previously, Dr. Klein was executive vice president and chief operating officer at New York Presbyterian Healthcare System and a professor of clinical pediatrics and clinical public health at Weill Medical College at Cornell University. Throughout his career at leading hospitals in New York City, Klein has held various leadership roles in pediatric cardiology, pediatrics and health system management.

A pediatric cardiologist, Klein has published articles and abstracts in such publications as the Journal of Pediatrics, Chest, and the Journal of the American College of Cardiology. His clinical interests include managing children with congenital heart disease and treating hypertension in children. As a health system executive, Klein has presented nationally on quality improvement in health care networks and building relationships within academic medical centers.

Klein is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He earned a bachelor’s degree in natural science at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a medical degree at State University of New York/Downstate Medical Center in New York. He also received an honorary doctorate from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine in New York.
