A client was considering investing in a manufacturer of large subsea oil rig components and needed to understand the potential for economic recovery in subsea drilling – as well as the implications on a target company’s future cash flows. BBA’s team included former subsea blow out preventer manufacturing managers, oil rig executives, and energy traders. Based on their input, BBA was able to develop detailed assumptions regarding component costs and volumes and create scenarios taking into account competitor dynamics and a range of oil price forecasts.
